Economic Data Collection
Compared to collecting data by hand or with an airplane or satellite, drones offer a mid-market solution. Firstly, drones capture millions of data points during a 30-minute flight. Secondly, they are capable of carrying a variety of cameras or sensors. This gives researchers multiple options for the data they choose to collect and how they will apply it. Thirdly, scientists can use mission planning software to pre-plan flights and repeat them frequently for experiments — all at a minimal cost. Finally, Vision Aerial drones take less than two minutes to set up and deploy, saving valuable prep time.
Easy Access to Remote Environments
Researchers are able to collect data in remote areas much easier with a drone. In the past, this meant hiring an airplane or helicopter at a steep price or long wait times for satellite imagery. For a fraction of the time and cost, a drone can be deployed from a car, boat, or ATV and flown for several kilometers to collect data that may otherwise be inaccessible. Vision Aerial drones have a flight range of up to 16 km and come with a hard-sided, waterproof Pelican case for easy transport.
Repeat Experiments Consistently
Drones pre-programmed with a flight may perform repeat data collection missions. Vision Aerial drones come with mission planning software that uses GPS waypoints. The operator sets a starting point and then either selects a default survey pattern or manually defines the flight path. When absolute precision is a must, an RTK base station is added to the system. To compare datasets over time, re-deploy the saved mission.
Extreme Versatility for Almost Any Application
Vision Aerial drones are incredibly versatile. They are designed to be future proof and will adapt to new payload technology as it evolves. Whether your team requires a high-resolution camera, thermal sensor, hyperspectral, LiDAR, spectrometer, gas detection, or another device, your drone will support it. Capable of heavy lifting, long flight times, and the ability to withstand harsh environments, Vision Aerial drones for research are excellent for many kinds of environments and applications.
