News Blue sUAS 2.0 Project
Vision Aerial is one of 11 vendors selected for testing in the DOD’s Blue sUAS 2.0 project. The goal is to increase the selection of drones pre-approved for government purchase. Since the ban on Chinese drones was announced in Executive Order 13981 “Protecting the United States from Certain Unmanned Aircraft Systems,” American-made drones are in high demand. Testing is expected to take place in the spring. Stay subscribed for the results.
Helping the USFS Fight Wildfires
Vision Aerial is working with the US Forest Service to use drones for fighting wildfires. The USFS will use SwitchBlade-Elites equipped with high-resolution cameras, thermal sensors, and multispectral sensors to survey environmental conditions and respond to active incidents.
Members of the USFS traveled to Vision Aerial for flight training on their new systems.
Product Updates
Announcing Flight Deck! Our Mission Planning Software Just Got Better.
Until now, QGroundControl (QGC) software came standard with all our systems. Vision Aerial is releasing Flight Deck, which will replace QGC moving forward. The new flight software improves user experience by removing or hiding settings irrelevant to our users, resolves issues with retract functions, and provides additional safety features. Release notes and user documentation will be available soon.
