JOB SUMMARY:

The Vision Aerial Production Intern shall assemble, test and integrate electromechanical components
and subassemblies. They will perform test operations on drones and payloads according to customer
specifications. As available, they will work with management on projects to improve production
processes. This position entails a high level of detail, acute observation skills, analytical and
mechanical skills as well as an understanding of good manufacturing practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assembles electrical and mechanical components and sub-assemblies using drawings and work instructions.
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using precision tools, calibrated hand tools, and power tools.
  • Install electromechanical, electronic parts, and hardware in assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  • Tests performance on electromechanical assemblies such as drones and payloads, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other testing equipment.
  • Research and implement improvements to existing production methods.
  • Maintains company inventory and quality control using ERP software.
  • Maintains and complies with production procedures.
  • Understands and meets production schedule deadlines.
  • Other duties or special projects required in order to meet the company’s objectives.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety protocol.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Junior standing or higher in Physics, Engineering or an equivalent degree from a technical school in electronics or physical sciences.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical specifications using drawings and manuals.
  • Able to communicate effectively and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Theory of Constraints are a plus.
  • Experience as a drone operator such as Part 107 Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Google Docs, Sheet and Slides to produce reports and graphs is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to use fingers to manipulate small parts.
  • Ability to reach with arms and use hands to seize, hold, and grasp objects.
  • Excellent vision is required to perform a job.
  • Required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
