This new release of FlightDeck improves user experience by adding the ability to convert and upload geoPDF files to a Herelink as a background map.
What’s New
- Allows the user to upload geoPDF files as a background map on the Herelink (after converted to a geoTIF format in desktop version of FlightDeck)
- The opacity slider allows for maps to be semi-transparent so details on both maps are visible simultaneously.
- The Windows Desktop version of FlightDeck now has a Geo Photo tab within the application settings where a user can convert geoPDF files to geoTIF files.
- Option to hide landing gear icon if vehicle is equipped with manual retracts. (available in user settings)
- The “No Payload Selected” button will disappear after 60 seconds if no payload is selected. A payload can still be selected by going into the settings.

Open Issues
- An error message will pop up on the initial startup, “Flight Deck Detected problems with app native libraries (please consult log for detail)” libQGroundControl.so; text relocations.” There is no impact to the Flight Deck software. This is an Android Operating system error that will only be resolved by changes to Android software. Disregard this message and close the error window when this appears.
- On units with cameras running survey missions, photos are sometimes not taken at the start and endpoints because photos are triggered by distance covered.
- When connected to the internet, maps sometimes load inconsistently.
- If the user backs out of the app to the Android desktop, the telemetry may disconnect.
- It is not possible to pause and resume a planned mission, for example, when changing batteries.
